if i could describe my perfect day in the history of days it would probably start with a picnic in the park. laying on a blanket, snuggling under the moss trees with my sweet hubby. yep. that's definitely how it would begin. matt knows this about me so being the super-sweet-mushy-gushy husband that he is he planned a picnic at airlie gardens, one of my favorite spots in wilmington. every time i visit the gardens i always regret not getting married there, but then i remember how control-freakish i am and realize i could have never calmly had an outdoor wedding. but that's another story for another day. here are some pictures from a perfect day.

I'm the same way about planning. I could never get married outdoors! Waaaaay too many variables.
A picnic looks like so much fun!

What a beautiful day! That park looks so romantic and peaceful...there's just something calming about a picnic, don't you think? Makes you slow down and just enjoy each others company. Thanks for sharing this day with us! Inspires me to plan a picnic soon :-).
This is absolutely precious. I hope you two get to have more and more days like this day! That place is so gorgeous and serene!
What a perfect date day! :)
What a beautiful day! I wish I could go on a picnic, but they are announcing temperatures below zero :( anyhow, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, your hubby is so sweet!

I love picnic dates and falling asleep in the warmth of the sun. It's so peaceful and really slows down the pace of life.
