Today I have a special treat for ya! Callie is over here from her blog My Something New With You talking about the L-word. Callie is so sweet and I love her heart. I hope you enjoy her post and I encourage you to hop on over and say hello!
********************************************************************
Hello
dear friends of the gorgeous Mrs. Lopatka!
Isn’t she just a doll!? I absolutely love this girl and I was soooo
excited when she asked me to guest post on her blog so I hope you don’t mind me
tip toeing in today!
My
name is Callie and I am the girl behind the blog, My
Something New With You.
From the title of my blog, I can bet your guessing I’m one of those silly
newlyweds who just learned butter can literally explode in the microwave if
left unattended! Well you guessed it, I’ve had my share of clean ups and unmentionable
ruins after only seven months of marriage, but these little moments are ones
that I cherish so dearly and I love to share as much as I can with my readers
because quite frankly: they are usually pretty hilarious! I chose the name for
my blog from the old saying “ my something old, my something new, my something borrowed, my something blue”. And
since my named “husby” Garrett and I just recently got married in June, our
marriage is “my something new” and I’ll be sharing it with YOU along the way. Catchy,
I know!
Since
the month of all things mushy and corny love gooeyness has stumbled upon us
once again, what subject better to talk about than the big four letter word!
Love has been around a long time hasn’t it? It’s hard to think of being without
actually! And if you haven’t found it yet, you can barely wait to find it, am I
right!? So before I sway off the main topic, let me tell you what the topic
we’re aiming for is… before I miss, and friends this is one you don’t want to
miss! It’s soo good!!
How to Keep a
Relationship your Top Priority:
Now
as I have told you before, my husband and I have only been married seven months,
that may seem like only baby steps leading to a topic this big to some, but the
way I think of it is: If you know and
practice your priorities from the very beginning of a relationship, those
little ways you have incorporated into your commitment can only get sturdier
with time. And that’s the bible of the blues, can I get an amen!?
While
I was dwelling upon this topic in my quiet time, I tried to think of ways to
keep a relationship top priority, but all I could think about were “our ways” of keeping each other top
priority (as in reference of my husband and I’s.) Things like: How my husband and I choose to still get all
dressed up to go on dates and such (just me and him) together, keeping little
traditions that we’ve built along the way going, and trying our best to keep
God first along the way. But after I really thought about it, every
relationship is different, unique in it’s own very way. I don’t
believe there’s a sequence of events or book of guidelines to help create a
great relationship. You just simply have
to find what works and what doesn’t in YOUR relationship with ONE ANOTHER,
and after you do that, you have got it sister! One thing I like to do is ask
myself each day: what can I do to make my husband smile today?? Whether you
like to surprise your special one with his favorite desserts ( or in my case
usually burn’t ones) and mushy hidden love notes, or would rather keep things
simple and breezy, it’s your Love and as long as you tickle each others heart
strings that is all that matters my deary, and that is clearly undoubtfully
Love!
I
have truly enjoyed this time with you all, and thanks to the lovely Denise for
having me on the blog! I hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day and feel
free to come visit me anytime, I'm just a blog away!!
